Happy New year everyone!
All children came back to school full of energy and exciting stories about their winter holidays!
The kindergarten kids made all great New years resolutions,
while S-class made a beautiful 2020 poster.
This week we also had our yearly mochi-pounding event.
Pounding mochi (rice-cakes) is a Japanese New year tradition.
All students helped to pound the mochi rice dough in a large stone mill.
The hammer was heavy, but some kids even tried to hold and pound by themselves!
Then we all made round rice cakes out of the sticky mochi dough.
Everyone looks forward to eating them!
